It is much more now the way it always should have been. Sure, even at my local course, the women’s club usually plays on Monday mornings – just as there are regular groups of men who play. But it is much more common to see groups of women or mixed groups on the course now that in earlier times. There are always women on the practice range just working on their golf game, or out playing the course. I’ve seen teenaged girls and young women coming out to play the course just because it is fun – just like all the other golfers who come to play golf. And that is the way it should be. The problem is, there are still golfers who seem to think it should be something only “traditional” golfers do – the old regulars. It’s too bad. Golf should be as inclusive as any other activity.
Play golf with someone patient enough to help you along and you’ll learn. You cannot touch the sand in a bunker with your club prior to your actual shot for example.
