Never seen them affect anything. Pros do not need them and those with conditioned swing patterns, do not either. Always thought they were a marketing gimmick. Those brush-t’s, pronged tee’s, the tees that claim four more yards, or any that claim a benefit by having less ball-to-tee contact are full of sh*t. All of them. There are tees you’ll see in department stores and online that have a flange jutting up from what’s supposed to be the “back” of the tee. They look something like this: That flange sits between the ball and where the clubface will be at impact. This will indeed cause the ball to go farther and possibly (emphasis on possibly) less offline. Why? Because anything between the ball and clubface will reduce spin. Both backspin and “sidespin”*. You can still hit it offline, but the ball will curve less. If you find your ball tucked up against tall grass, you’ll get what’s called a “flier lie”. The grass prevents friction from building up, so the ball will come off the face with less spin. It will fly farther than it would in normal conditions. Flier lies are where they got the idea for putting additives to the clubface or inventing these janky flapper tees. It’s also why those are all illegal. Any event sanctioned by the USGA, R&A, or PGA will not allow them. Rounds you want to count towards your handicap (if you keep one) disallow their use, as well. If you want to use them in a fun round with your buddies, that’s on you.

The tee cups the back of the ball so that instead of striking the ball, the club his the tee instead. As a result there is much less spin put on the ball. It doesn’t impact the initial direction of the ball, but does mean that you won’t get the subsequent slice or hook that the spin would have caused. Of course it doesn’t just affect side spin. There will be less back spin on the ball too. With little or no back spin the ball will stay lower and might well ‘knuckle’ through the air. It is likely that you would lose a fair amount of distance. These are not legal for competitive play. The laws require that a tee must not be designed to influence the movement of the ball, or assist the player in making the stroke. I think they would also be frowned on even for friendly golf if you are keeping score against someone else. To my mind it is the equivalent of improving your lie in a bunker.
