There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as the current trend with dress shirts depends on the individual’s personal style and preferences. However, short sleeve shirts are generally considered to be “in style” right now, and many women are opting for this type of shirt when dressing for work or other formal occasions. It is for some people. My nieghbor, after over 25 years as a teaching assistant, sold her house and moved to the east coast, leaving her daughter behind, where is is much cheaper to live than in Ontario. According to her Facebook page, she is happily living the life off a hippy, living off the proceeds of her home sale. She’s that old, maybe 50,, so that money will run out sooner or later. Not sure what she will do then, but she seems to be enjoying herself.
I think I may have good news for you. My original answer was written almost 2 years ago, as predicted (by us here) we are going away from minimalism and all bare interiors. All white interiors (that is completely white interiors) are out, so is proliferations of greys. People are interested in maximalism now :), surprise-surprise… When the pendulum swings too hard one side, it is bound to swing just as hard to the other :). Wait till antique tea cups decorated with painted roses and gilded brims come back in style (not my favorites, but with the pandemic and people stuck at home they have a good chance to return).
Just a couple of weeks ago I went to see Architectural digest show in NYC (spring 2019 *later edit). Usually, I come back with many ideas, excited to see so many beautiful and different things. Not this year, I came back thinking “blah….” – waste of time and money. I could not quite figure out what was wrong at first, but then I realized: I’m not so much against the trend, but there has to be some variety. Minimalism feels refreshing after looking at plush, overfilled interiors. But if everything around looks minimalist and contemporary, the feeling is like in an insane asylum or a prison without any escape from cold stone, greys/blacks, sharp corners, rectangular shapes, and not a cute knick-knack in site.
